It’s one of the many errors you will face, its daily routine of Windows users but this the problem is due to the main app.

Thousands if not millions of Windows / Nvidia users have faced this problem and now you’re the one facing it. But don’t worry, below we are going to list some methods by which you can easily fix this error. Let’s begin…

5 Easy Methods For Fixing “GeForce Experience Won’t Open” Issue

GeForce Experience Won't Open - Soved!

Check Your Nvidia Graphic Card Drivers

First of all, you should check if there’s an issue with your graphic card drivers. If there are any problems then they could be the very cause of GeForce not launching properly. So, what should you do?

Don’t fret, all you need to do is to check if your graphic card drivers are up to date or not. If they are the cause of the issue you will just have to update or re-install them.

Here are some simple steps you need to follow –

  1. Search for “Open Device Manager” in the Windows 10 search box. Click on the 1st result. You will be sent directly to the Control Panel’s device manager setting. You can also visit it manually from Control Panel > Hardware & Sound > Device Manager.
  2. Click on Device Manager. Here you will see all the devices that are currently installed. Expand on Display Adapters and double click on your graphics card.
  3. Click on Update Drivers.
  4. After that, click on -> Search automatically for updated driver software. Windows will search for the latest drivers and install them.

Even if the drivers it finds may not be the latest ones from NVIDIA, it may allow the GeForce Experience to run. You can try this method it will just take a little time.

Re-install GeForce Experience

There are many times when re-installing apps is an easy way to get them working again. We will do the same with GeForce Experience. Simply, we will just uninstall and reinstall the application. (No shit Sherlock!)

To uninstall any app from Windows 10 you just need to follow a few steps –

  1. Go to your Windows start menu. Click on the Settings app icon.
  2. Click on the Apps menu. Select NVIDIA GeForce Experience and then click on Uninstall. Also, click on Accept at the administrative prompt.
  3. You will have to select Uninstall again in the NVIDIA installer. Wait for a few minutes and it will be uninstalled.
  4. Restart your computer. Done!

After restarting you will have to download the latest version of the NVIDIA GeForce Experience. Here’s the download link.

Click on download now. Then, accept the administrative prompt. Agree to terms and conditions (which no one ever reads), wait for it to install. After the process is finished it will automatically start running.

Restart GeForce Experience Service

Most of the PC apps require running a background service in order to work properly. GeForce Experience is no exception to that. If the GeForce Experience services are not running in the background then no matter how hard you try it just won’t run.

The solution to this is pretty simple. We just need to restart the GeForce Experience. Here’s how you do it –

  1. Go to the Windows start menu by pressing the Windows button (or you can go to the bottom left of your screen).
  2. Search for services. (Or just keep it short by pressing windows + R together and typing services.msc then hit enter.)
  3. Check if the “NVIDIA GeForce Experience Service” is running or not. Make sure its status is “Running” and the startup type is set to ”automatic”.
  4. On the left-hand side, you will see a “restart” option. Click on it.

After following these steps all you need to do is to open GeForce Experience. We are pretty sure that one of the above methods you have worked for you. (You have to be extremely unlucky if these didn’t work but fear not, we still have 2 options left…)

Check For Hardware Issues

Not only your software, but your hardware too can be a possible cause for GeForce Experience not working. In his method, you will know how to check for possible hardware issues. Let’s begin.

It will only work if you have a desktop PC as changing parts on a laptop is totally different. First of all, reset your graphics card. Turn your computer off and unplug all the cables. Open your computer, after that just remove the graphics card from the PCI slot. Clean your graphics card and the other parts if there’s too much dust.

Put your graphics card back, make sure everything’s set as before. You can also try putting it in another PCI slot if it’s available.

Use the GPU-Z tool, it will help you in diagnosing the possible issues with your graphics card. Here’s the download link of the tool.

After downloading the tool you can run it and see if the information about your graphics card is the same as provided by the manufacturer. If it’s not you would have been provided an inferior copy of the card. Ask for a refund if the information is mismatched or can’t be detected.

Just Get Rid GeForce Experience

If none of the above methods work for you, then you will just be better off without NVIDIA GeForce Experience. While it’s a good program it’s not essential to have. It just has two features – updating your graphics card and tweaking graphical options to certain games. Both of these can be done in a manual way.

Update the graphics card in the above-mentioned method. For tweaking settings for games, you will have to go to the NVIDIA control panel > Manage 3d settings. It isn’t as hard as it looks.
